“I’ve been working for the restaurant industry for 20 years and counting, and when 730 Tavern (formerly Tavern in the Square) became available in 2017, I decided to take the opportunity. We opened 730 Tavern, Kitchen & Patio at the end of August 2017 and kept the same layout as Tavern in the Square. Our vision was to bring the spot back to being a neighborhood bar where the owners are constantly present. I run the floor and my partner runs the kitchen. We are in the restaurant 100% of the time, and when customers come in to book their private parties or dine with us, they get that facetime with us.

730 Tavern has a lot to offer the Central Square neighborhood. We have 45 different kinds of beers and 10 draft lines, four of which rotate. We try to stay local with our selection — our top sellers are Lord Hobo, Night Shift, and Cambridge Brewing Company. Our menu concept is very sports bar-oriented and includes tacos, pasta, and our best-seller, burger and fries. We also do a la carte brunch on Saturdays and an all you can eat brunch buffet on Sundays. For $17 a person, you can enjoy our salad station, omelette station, dessert station, and much more.

We host a variety of events throughout the week, including trivia and open mic comedy on Tuesdays, free comedy shows on Wednesdays, and karaoke on Thursdays. We also always have a high demand for private parties. We’ve hosted a variety of events ranging from buyouts for 200+ people, to intimate birthday parties for 10+ people. When booking events, we don’t charge a room fee and don’t require minimum spending, contracts, or deposits. We make it as simple as we can for our guests. Just one phone call and I’ll book your party here, no problem.

Some things you may not know about us is that we’re the home of the Minnesota Vikings Alumni Club. They’ll come in huge numbers for watch parties and we feature Minnesota beer for them. We’re even planning on doing a Minnesota-themed menu for them next season. We also host Social Boston Sports quite often — they come in every night after their events!

We love being located in Central Square because of the foot traffic. You get to know the names of the people who live and work here and develop a personal relationship with them. Since I’m here most of the time, I’ll see a lot of familiar faces. We also try to keep our business local by banking with Citizens and doing business with Classic Graphix.”
